Voici un petit résumé exhaustif de la conférence de presse made In Microsoft de l’E3.

Une Xbox 360 familiale :
Peter Moore débute par une partie du jeu d’Harmonix, Rock Band, ou il met accidentellement le jeu sur pause. Il démontre par ce titre que la Xbox 360 peut être un peu comme la Wii, c’est-à-dire une zone de jeux entre amis et pour la famille.
Vient ensuite une démonstration de Viva Pinata : Party Animals. Le titre issu de la franchise Rare devrait proposer une cinquantaine de mini jeux, dans lesquels les joueurs prendront le contrôle de leur Pinata préféré, exclusivement sur Xbox 360.

Le nombre de jeux :
Après une petite démonstration de Mass Effect, Peter Moore parle de chiffres, en disant que les gens vont dépenser cette année plus d’argent en achat de jeux qu’en achat de musique. Il note, selon les chiffres du NPD, que la 360 est très largement installée aux Etats-Unis, avec 5.6 millions de consoles vendues dans ce pays, dépassant la PS3 de deux contre un. Il ajoute que les ventes de jeux Xbox 360 sont supérieures aux ventes PS3 et Wii combinées. Il a également annoncé que les jeux third party (de studios indépendants) ont été présents dans le top dix 18fois, toujours selon le NPD.
Concernant les ventes de jeux, d’accessoires, et de consoles, les joueurs ont dépensé 2.4 milliards de dollars chez Microsoft, autant que les deux principaux concurrents combinés.

Encore la famille :
Après un montage des titres Xbox 360 à venir, Moore a invité Jeff Bell, global marketing vice president chez Microsoft. Ce dernier a annoncé que le très populaire Scene it verrait le jour sur 360, avec un nouveau controller, des scènes en HD, des questions, pour en faire un DVD totalement interactif. La « manette » sera accessible pour tout le monde, et le packaging comprendra le jeu, ainsi que trois de ces nouveaux périphériques. Un peu comme le jeu Buzz de chez Sony.
Enfin Bell a montré le dernier jeu sous licence chez Ubisoft, Naruto : Rise of a Ninja.

Le Live :
Le Xbox Live comprend actuellement 7 millions de joueurs, et croit au rythme soutenu d’un nouvel adhérent toutes les 8 secondes. Microsoft prédit donc 10 millions de joueurs connectés d’ici l’E3 édition 2008.

Le marketplace vidéo :
Le Xbox Live peut fournir des vidéos outre Atlantique. Il y a 28 chaines, 2.000 heures de vidéos, 500 en HD, et les adhérents ont acheté pour plus de 125 millions de dollars en vidéos et contenus divers.
Une annonce qui ne passera pas inaperçue est la présence de Disney sur ce marché, qui fournit des contenus en HD de ses plus grands films.
Enfin, Bell annonce que la vidéo à la demande va être disponible en Europe et au Canada d’ici la fin de l’année !

Windows :
Shane Kim monte sur scène, et annonce quelques beaux titres à venir sur PC, dont Viva Pinata, mais également le blockbuster de Epic Games, Gears of War. Ce dernier comprendra cinq nouveaux chapitres solo, de nouveaux modes multi, de nouvelles arènes, un éditeur de cartes in-game, et de nouveaux succès à développer.
Shane Kim révèle que trois grand éditeurs, Eidos, Sega, et THQ, on signé pour le Game for Windows Live, et promettent une douzaine de jeux pour les trois d’ici la fin de l’année. Ceci devrait faire un peu accélérer le service.
Epic Games à quand à lui conclu un partenariat avec Microsoft afin de fournir dans leur Unreal Engine toutes les ressources nécessaires aux développeurs pour inclure dans leurs jeux le Game for Windows Live.

De retour sur la console :
Moore revient sur le devant de la scène, montre un peu de Call of Duty 4, et comme l’a été Halo 3, le jeu sera disponible prochainement en version bêta multijoueurs.
Moore insiste également sur le fait que les trailers de GTA 4 présentés sont tous in-game, et ont été capturés sur une version tournant sur Xbox 360. Il rappelle également que les deux contenus qui seront disponibles en 2008 seront exclusifs à la Xbox 360.

Le Japon :
De nombreux éditeurs japonais commencent à supporter la Xbox 360. Virtua Fighter 5 qui a un mode Live exclusif à la Xbox 360, Ace Combat 6, Eternal Sonata, mais également Devil May Cry 4 pour la première fois chez le géant américain.
Vient ensuite un trailer de Resident Evil 5, qui sera également chez Microsoft pour la première fois.
Après un trailer de Assassin’s Creed, Moore révèle la console spéciale Halo 3, qui sera vendue le 25 septembre, ce jour étant « le plus grand lancement dans toute l’histoire du divertissement ». Après avoir révélé les accessoires Halo 3, une vidéo présentant du in-game de ce jeu a été présenté.

Certains d’entre vous (la plupart) n’ont pas pu suivre la conférence de Microsoft en direct de l’E3. Voici donc une liste des jeux présentés par Microsoft, et qui sortirons sur la Xbox 360 et sur PC. Comme vous pourrez le voir, la console dispose d’un très beau line up. Les descriptions sont en anglais (car tirées du communiqué de presse), mais cela reste néanmoins très lisible.

• “Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation” (NAMCO BANDAI Games). “Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation” takes players up to the sky and into the heat of realistic air combat with next-generation audio and visual effects and online multiplayer action.*
• “Assassin’s Creed” (Ubisoft). “Assassin’s Creed” is the next-generation game developed by Ubisoft that merges technology, game design, theme and emotions into a world where players will assume the role of the main character, Altair, and will have the power to throw their immediate environment into chaos and experience the art of a master assassin.  <Insert local release date>
• “Beautiful Katamari” (NAMCO BANDAI Games). Marking the debut of Namco’s beloved ball-rolling puzzle game on a next-generation platform, “Beautiful Katamari,” the fourth installment of the “Katamari” series, features levels of quirkiness, cosmic animations and musical stylings never seen before.  <Insert local release date>
• “BioShock” (2K Games). “BioShock” is the “genetically enhanced” first-person shooter set in the ruined undersea metropolis of Rapture. 
• “Blue Dragon” (Mistwalker/Artoon Co. Ltd.). From famed game producer Hironobu Sakaguchi comes “Blue Dragon™,” a unique, epic role-playing game. 
• “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare” (Activision). The new action thriller from the award-winning team at Infinity Ward Inc., “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare” delivers the most intense and cinematic action experience ever. The epic title also delivers an added depth of multiplayer action providing online fans an all-new community of persistence, addictive and customizable gameplay. 
• “Dance Dance Revolution UNIVERSE™ 2” (Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.). The series’ encore performance on Xbox 360 delivers new gameplay options along with a mix of songs from the 1970s, ’80s, ’90s and today as well as online play, downloadable music, enhanced graphics and accessibility for players of all ages.
• “Grand Theft Auto IV” (Rockstar Games). “Grand Theft Auto IV” is the next chapter of the award-winning “Grand Theft Auto” franchise, available Oct.16. “Grand Theft Auto IV” will feature episodic content through Xbox LIVE exclusive to  Xbox 360.
• “Guitar Hero III™: Legends of Rock” (RedOctane/Activision). Fire up the fret board, crank up the amp and get ready to rock out on the new wireless Les Paul guitar controllers. “Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock” includes star-studded tracks by such legendary artists as Guns N’ Roses, The Rolling Stones, Beastie Boys, Muse and Pearl Jam. 
• “Halo 3” (Bungie Studios). The epic saga continues with “Halo 3,” the hugely anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed “Halo 2.” 
• “Madden NFL 08” (Electronic Arts Inc.). EA’s unstoppable football franchise returns for the ’08 season in Hall of Fame fashion, featuring new players, modes, rosters and rewards to create the ultimate touchdown for pigskin fans.
• “Mass Effect” (BioWare Corp.). An epic science-fiction action and role-playing game, “Mass Effect” will deliver an immersive, story-driven experience presented in a cinematic style with high production values.
• “Naruto: Rise of a Ninja” (Ubisoft). Relive the hit anime and manga and experience Naruto’s transformation from noisy ninja-academy dropout to respected ninja.  <Insert local release date>, only on Xbox 360.
• “Project Gotham Racing 4” (Bizarre Creations Ltd.). “Project Gotham Racing® 4” will redefine the acclaimed “PGR®” franchise by delivering a unique, exciting racing experience complete with motorcycles and cars. Available this September, only on Xbox 360.
• “Rock Band” (MTV Games). “Rock Band” will allow gamers to perform music from the world’s biggest rock artists with their friends as a virtual band. Available this Christmas.
• “Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action” (Screenlife/WXP). “Scene It?” brings the fun of movie trivia to players of all ages with new TV and movie clips in high definition as well as five new puzzle challenges never before shown in a “Scene It?” game. It also ships with four new Xbox 360 Big Button Pads and will be available this Christmas, only on Xbox 360.
• “Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction” (Ubisoft). In the latest installment of Tom Clancy’s coveted “Splinter Cell” franchise, players will experience an adrenaline rush of gameplay where hunted down as a fugitive, you have no choice other than using everything in your environment to survive. Available this Christmas.
• “Virtua Fighter™ 5” (SEGA). This new installment in the critically acclaimed series brings intense, arcade fighting action, an all-star cast of 17 fighters and, a next-generation first for the franchise, online two-player versus mode only on Xbox LIVE.
• “Viva Piñata®: Party Animals” (Krome Studios Pty. Ltd.). An exciting new party game based on the critically acclaimed Xbox 360 exclusive and hit animated TV series, “Viva Piñata: Party Animals” brings back the familiar piñata animals and invites players to compete in a host of mini-games against friends at home or over Xbox LIVE.* Only on Xbox 360.

Comme l’année précédente, Microsoft va vous faire vivre l’E3 en direct sur le Xbox Live. Vous n’aurez même pas besoin de vous déplacer à Los Angeles pour voir les jeux les plus attendus, et que vous allez probablement acheter, ou tout du moins essayer.

Les contenus arriveront du 10 au 13 juillet 2007, sous la forme de vidéos, démos, thèmes et images de joueur. Vous pourrez donc suivre les importantes annonces de Microsoft en quasi direct, dans votre canapé.

Sony, quand à lui, ne pourra rien diffuser via sa PS3, vu que le PS Home est encore en phase de bêta, et n’est pas encore prêt à diffuser du contenu pour un nombre très important de personnes.

Le salon E3, maintenant appelé E3 Media and Business, a beau avoir subi une sévère cure d’amaigrissement, il reste néanmoins un salon incontournable, avec chaque année de mémorables annonces à la clef. Les responsables du salon ont décidé de communiqué les dates des conférences présentées par les acteurs incontournables du marché, et c’est avec joie que je vous les transmets à mon tour. Les heures données sont les heures locales. Vous devrez donc ajouter 9h pour l’heure de Paris.
