Et oui, le Xbox Live fête son cinquième anniversaire! En guise de cadeau, Microsoft vous offre divers thèmes et images pour votre Xbox 360, ainsi que le jeu XBA Carcassonne, pour un temps limité.

La firme de Redmond communique également le nombre d’abonnés au service Xbox Live : il aurait dépassé 8 millions de personnes…
De plus, à partir de décembre, nous les joueurs pourront télécharger les jeux Xbox originaux via le marketplace, moyennant finance (1.200 MS points).

Aller, rendez-vous dans cinq années !

Voici un article intéressant publié sur le site Gamasutra : il apparaitrait que 46% des jeux édités sur Xbox 360 ont été rejetés au moins une fois lors du processus de certification Microsoft. Cette certification est comme un contrôle qualité d’un jeu, les techniciens de Microsoft vérifiant si le jeu est conforme à leurs exigences techniques, si le jeu ne comporte pas trop de bugs, si le service Xbox Live est correctement utilisé… Une des nouvelles exigences de Microsoft est d’obligatoirement vérifier si le jeu fonctionne bien en full HD, i.e. en 1080p. Cependant, le XDK (kit de développement de la Xbox 360) d’aout 2007 inclut un utilitaire permettant de vérifier si le jeu est conforme. Mais il ne fait pas tout !

Puis il y a l’évaluation ESRB : les développeurs ne doivent pas autoriser un jeu très violent pour les moins de 3 ans ! Autant de ‘contraintes ‘ qui peuvent retarder la commercialisation d’un titre, et ainsi engranger des couts supplémentaires, qui peuvent peser sur le budget d’un modeste studio…

Voilà, un grand jour est arrivé pour tous ceux qui possèdent Gears of War. Le pack de cartes « Hidden » est maintenant gratuit.

Ce pack contient quatre magnifiques cartes : Bullet March, Garden, Process, et Subway.

Une bonne occasion de ressortir le jeu de vos armoires, ou d’acheter ce classique si vous ne le possédez pas !

Larry Hryb (Major Nelson) vient d’annoncer un petit évènement pour tous les possesseurs de Xbox 360, qui sont inscrits au Xbox Live. La démo du jeu Bioshock est en effet disponible sur le marketplace, pour un poids de 1.35gb.

Une vidéo a également été mise en ligne, pour le plus grand plaisir des gamers !

Je jeu est toujours prévu pour fin août dans les commerces, ce dernier étant passé en phase de production.

Le Xbox Live Arcade est décidément très actif. Preuve en est cette liste des nouveaux jeux qui vont arriver sur votre console ce mois-ci.

• “Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords” (D3Publisher of America, Inc.) Addictive and easy-to-learn, this game integrates story and character progression elements found in RPGs delivering a brand new type of game that pushes the puzzle genre to a whole new level.
• “Space Giraffe” (Llamasoft) Created by genre-defining game designer Jeff Minter, “Space Giraffe” is a psychedelic shooter that spans 100 levels, all set against vivid, pulsating backgrounds that synchronize with any custom music selection.
• “Streets of Rage 2” (Sega) One of the most popular side-scrolling beat ‘em ups of the 90’s gets the Xbox LIVE Arcade treatment, complete with enhanced graphics, sound, Achievements and multiplayer modes.
• “Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix” (Capcom) This game combines addictive puzzle action with favorite Capcom fighting characters including Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Morrigan.

Certains d’entre vous (la plupart) n’ont pas pu suivre la conférence de Microsoft en direct de l’E3. Voici donc une liste des jeux présentés par Microsoft, et qui sortirons sur la Xbox 360 et sur PC. Comme vous pourrez le voir, la console dispose d’un très beau line up. Les descriptions sont en anglais (car tirées du communiqué de presse), mais cela reste néanmoins très lisible.

• “Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation” (NAMCO BANDAI Games). “Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation” takes players up to the sky and into the heat of realistic air combat with next-generation audio and visual effects and online multiplayer action.*

La maintenance commencera à 11h, et se terminera à 14h, heure de Paris !

Il tient également à préciser qu’aucune nouvelle fonction fera son apparition, il s’agit juste d’une maintenance.
